Esther Gallmeier to join Applied Math PhD program at Cornell

May 5, 2022 by adavidson38 Leave a Comment

Esther Gallmeier, an undergraduate in the School of Mathematics and a Weitz Group member since fall 2021, is set to graduate tomorrow. Mentored by postdoctoral researcher Jeremy Harris, Gallmeier has spent her time in the Group conducting theoretical modeling research on the effects of correlations between population susceptibility and transmissibility on epidemic dynamics. This fall, Gallmeier will be starting a PhD in applied math at Cornell University in the fall.

“I am absolutely thrilled to join the Cornell Applied Math program to continue to learn and apply mathematics,” shares Gallmeier. “I’m looking forward to this opportunity to delve deeper into using math to understand the dynamical complexities of biological and physical systems.”

Congratulations to Esther on her coming graduation and embarking on the next step of her career.
