Research Areas:

Advancing Bacteriophage Therapy
Microbial Ecology & Evolution

Jacopo received his PhD in Physics at Ecole Normale Superieure in Paris. He is a theoretical biophysicist interested in studying biological systems with theoretical models that capture their key features leading to the observed experimental behavior, borrowing tools from nonlinear dynamics and statistical mechanics. Jacopo joined the Weitz group in the summer of 2020, where he’ll work to advance bacteriophage therapy research. He is addressing how to steer the co-evolution between phages and bacteria in order to devise successful therapy strategies. In his free time he enjoys hiking in nature, sailing and scuba diving.
